Half a dozen members of the family had come down to help me to celebrate so we went to Olhao and had a gentle sail across the Ria Formosa to Culatra, walked across the island to the sea. I was gratified by the reaction of some well travelled people who said that it was one of the most beautiful beaches that they had ever seen. After swimming we walked back and had an excellent lunch overlooking the Ria - idyllic.
