Now I've retired we've been thinking of volunteering for the Olympics to enjoy an 'insider' view. The kids point out we might not get another opportunity. Charming.
But as we live in Hampshire I wonder if anyone knows where one can book / get a mooring close by the Olympic site in the City and how to go about finding more?
We've a 13m river boat, draft 1.4m, airdraft 3.5m.
Any advice or suggestions much appreciated.

Security restrictions will seriously inhibit the likelihood of getting anywhere near the Olympic village - I think the Met has advised shutting off the local canal system for the duration of the games. Your best bet would be Gallions Point Marina (cheap, friendly and handy for the DLR) or Limehouse. St Kat's is already fully booked.

My understanding is that it's only the New River portion of the Olympic site that will be closed, the Lea mainline will be available, but doubtless subject to security challenges.

BW were proposing to put in (temporary) moorings subject to sufficient demand, but I haven't followed that up.

Have a look on Waterscape or even the London region of BW's site.
