Log Beagle: 702 Nm
Engine: 112 hours
Total log (delivery & crossing) > 1000Nm

Just curious from my location, which is the protected Grevelingen lake. Got the boat pretty late this year (June) and only do long (daytrip) coastal trips during long weekend/holidays. But did a 3 days delivery in March and 1st North Sea crossing in Mai, so total miles are well over 1000.
Wondering what the differences might be between sailing (mostly) secured waters to those who are more or less always at sea.......

I find that lack of sea miles is more often due to not completing the part of the journey between the house and the boat, rather than any problem with weather in the English Channel. I also try and sail with the tide rather than against it so my log tends to underread the total miles covered. :) Your 1000 miles is equivalent to about 40 round trips between Chichester harbour and Cowes, or just over 5 trips to Cherbourg.

Sounds like a lot of motoring to me - guess it's unavoidable in sheltered & crowded waters.

It is a lot of motoring. Since this was the "maiden year" for Beagle, it is not such a bad thing per se. But, if I can gain more sailing pleasure by moving to a different marina, I might go for that option. Hence my curiosity regarding avarage sailing/motoring stats from abroard.
