I have a good offer for a part exchange with a 2001 Sunseeker Predator 60 with dual MAN 1050 HP, around 1000 hours and in a great condition.

I am thinking seriously about it, but I do not know anything about the specific boat (60 ft) mainly because I never researched this size of boats, but around ~45 ft.

I would appreciate your opinions, and would be very useful to hear from ex or current owners…

All info will be very useful.

Thanks

Nick

Have you worked out the uplift adjustment for running costs from your Cranchi ?
You need a war chest sized to able to regularly drop €10 K every other year and even the odd €20 K + bill into those big and aged V12 MAN s
3-400 L / hr is not uncommon either . Excessive time D speeding it means just arrive at the numbers I quoted above faster .

FB has some interesting reads on MAN marine forums .

Ignore this post if iam telling grandma how to suck an egg .

The boats SS made of that era were good strong hulls traditional built with quality components, no worries on that score the build is / was very good .

High gloss cherry is a personal thing but its said to age and bloom eventually.Lack of UV delays this .Some say moisture eventually gets under it ?
My 2003 SS was just starting around a few edges when i offloaded in 2014 .Not much you had to search for it .
They used to automate the spraying of coatings / varnish at the factory bit like a car factory .Metal shell in one end , fully painted car out the other after various robotic processes .
SS did get this right off to a tee irrc sone ridiculous number like 17 coats / layers .
Thats always gonna be hard to replicate in a aftermarket kinda way .
Guess they could be wrapped , the new trendy colour scheme. It’s not a deal breaker you may get a few more yrs out of what’s there ?

Maybe you should seriously ask yourself first if you really need a boat this big.
That is 19' longer than your 41' Cranchi, and at least twice as heavy, and more than twice the maintenance / running costs.

Here is a 2001 Predator 60 for sale in Greece for US$ 316,000. But they only have 4 exterior photos of her!

Take heed of the excellent advice given above by Porto.

Hi to both,

The truth is I do not need such a big boat. On the contrary I feel nervous thinking about it, especially for the reasons you mentioned..... the COSTS!

This case arised because my agent proposed a very good deal as a part exchange. In any other case i wouldn't discuss such a buy....
