Ah, yes, I had to upgrade my 33K modem to a 56K one when I started Open University studies. Wow - high speed internet!

I remember dipping my toe in to ybw just before the millenium whilst abroad and getting a coupe of pretty informative responses from people.

And at the same time getting a sense of the playfulness potential.

Some bloke asked how to go about building their own inflatable dinghy from scratch: And the succinct response “ Are you mad?”

Pah! Escape from Alcatraz was easy. Normally the only escape from the YBW Forum is in a casket!

(The only feasible alternative is to put in enough effort to get yourself cast away on a desert island by the Mods. )
