Gentry Eagle was built 20 years ago this month by Vosper Thornycroft Portsmouth,Great Britain designed by Peter Birkett, also British she's the world's fastest motor yacht, 73mph or 63.47 knots, burns approx 328 gallons per hour @ 45knots, and you can buy it if you're insanely megarich,

I still have the MBY article about this
which was a bit after the Azimut Benetti Challenge, somehow I dont remember if the Blue Ribbon record was valid as I remember it stopped for refuelling which is not permited to compete with the record, I think the same problem happened to be for the Virgin Atlantic Challenge which happened a year before
italian Destriero then beat the record a year later if correct it was 1990, before that big trimaran also surpassed Destrier in the mid 90s
