Can anyone put me in touch with a USED 20-25 tonne launch and recovery boat trailer for sale? I'm in Greece but I have access to truck transport. I'm also prepared to dismantle and re-assemble one. Mainland Europe preferred but worldwide is OK.
I assure the moderators that this is a personal request and I'm not in business.

Launch recovery trailer?????

Favorite for building your own heavy boat transport trailer is to chop the top deck old a car transporter trailer. The perforated steel decking and and other scrap will raise near 1K which you can put towards cost of cutting off top deck and fitting adjustable pads.

These trailers are generally plated between 25/29 tonnes and do not make a heap of money, typically £2,500/3500 dependant on test and tyres.

Good luck

If you are able to dismantle and re-assemble, would it not be out of the way to get from a scrap yard two front axles and a length of steel H section and build your own.
Have a look at mine OK not 20ton but the same idea should work for you.
all you do is set up a steering for one of the axles and weld up the other.
Usually heavy goods wagon front ends come with a good seal to the bearings.
I hope this helps.

See www.roodberg.com

Well designed and engineered equipment , not cheap but good kit also known a Knijpstra trailers for the older stuff.

There is a secondhand section on the Web site.

They must be popular as most of the secondhand equipment is sold, this kind of kit is usually rare to find for sale unless you want to buy new.

Try James at Essexboatyards in Burnham - on - Crouch , sure those guys can help you. How is the goat farming....

If the original poster wants a trailer for one boat only perhaps the Firefly option could work when adapted to the boat in question.

However if the trailer is wanted to move a variety of liesure boats up to 20 tons displacemnt from the water to block off in a yard an hydraulic trailer that is adjustable to the boat shape and height adjustable to lower a boat onto blocks and stands and drive away is what is required.

I would say that it is the steering wheel , just not where you would normally see one :) , if you look carefully its mounted on a steering box linked to steering arms on that set of wheels .

I had this made up from two agricultural axles and wheels, the tyres are foam filled, so no danger of punctures, lorry chassis, steel channel, plus a turn table made from a yard dolly,my estimation is it would probably handle a 20 ton boat, although mine fully tanked (fuel&water)is only half that, it wasn't cheap cheap, but it didn't break the bank, in any case I couldn't afford it if it was custom made by a fabricating firm. using salvaged materials is key when looking to do something like this IMO.

That is just the job and not too difficult to make from Channel and RHS.

Yes the wheel is for steering as it is only interned for launch and recovery ramps, maybe around the yard and to go on the back of a truck.
This one here with a pals boat on it and a slightly different trolley but made in the same fashion as my first one two front axles and Rectangular hollow section steel.

Good god................ Where on earth was the nail of the Ford D Series exhumed from, looks like it is on six stud axles!! Suspect/hope it is not the ratchet handbrake model. What is the plated weight?

Ratchet staps, hope they are 5 tonne,,,, anyway they should have hooked on to chassis frame rails not onto the the boss eyed looking ramp.

Sorry but I have no clue how anybody could post that picture and be proud! OP must be peeing himself.

The truck is a D 550 9.5 toner. No it's not a ratchet handbrake.
The 5 Ton straps ARE onto the chassis frames and the trolley is securely fastened to the chassis by 4 U bolt clamps over the axles/chassis and the recovery ramps / conversion on the truck been passed and plated by VOSA to carry 5.75 tons.
Truck net is 3.65T the boat is lightened down to 4.6T
The gross is 8.25t so well within is capacity.

Just as an addition I have a 2002 Ford Iveco Tector Horse box and the chassis frames are not as heavy a section as the "D" but no doubt a far different spec of steel.:D

Sorry not a clue we got the boat on the trolley and you can see the original main girder section, I believe them to be from an X WWII military vehicle.
