Hi
I hope everyone is doing well in the current situation.
I am planning to do some home work with my new (used) outboard
May I ask if anyone here owns an evinrude 2 stroke ?
I ve just got used 5hp Evinrude unknown year probably from 90's for my tender.

I could not find where the anode is located. And I would appreciate any suggestion where can the manual be obtained.
Many thanks and stay safe.

I have a 6hp evinrude 2 stroke

Identify the year by reading the model number ( not serial number) on the ID plate on the transom bracket
It may be something like E5RECS ... Ignore the last letter and decode the preceding two letters according to the letters in the word INTRODUCES where I=1, N=2 etc through to E = 9 and S=0
In the above example EC ='98

You should find it listed here Outboard Marine Corporation - Model Year Guide

You may then be able to find a parts diagram at http://epc.brp.com/Index.aspx?lang=E&s1=75b86c0f-04e6-4719-a6ce-cb085eb65730 but the 5HP was not sold in N. America for all years. If you cannot find a parts diagram for a 5 hp in your year look at the diagram for a 6 hp because some 5 hp models were down rated 6hps

( Before you ask, No I do not know if or how you can uprate a 5 to a 6)

The exact details of the anode will depend on the year but it will be set in the underside of the AV plate above the prop. I believe towards the end of the 1990s they changed from being genuine 2 cylinder Evinrudes made in America or Belgium to rebadged far eastern made single cylinder engines. ( Suzuki DT5, I believe )

If in doubt post the model number

BTW always quote the full model number when ordering parts.
