Finally managed a whole day off yesterday, and as Mrs FC is popping to check up on me next week, thought I ought to find the Hotel Costalotsi she has booked us into *near* the Black Sea.

Decided to do a strange thing. Paddle in 2 seas in a day. So, out the back of the current Hotel garden, went and swished foot in Sea of Marmara. Jumped into the Double Goat Renault Handcart and whizzed up though beautiful mountains and found Costalotsi next the river in the hills. Drove on to Sile on the Black Sea and dipped my toe in the water there.
Swiz. Black Sea is not Black.

This is seriously unexplored territory for tourism. Roads are clear and empty, roadside coffee, tea, nuts, fruit sellers abound, and not daft prices.

Very tempted to buy a village house up there, its very green and lumpy, just the way I like it.

I don't even know where the Sea of Marmaris is :o

Hi FC
I spent an extended period in Central Turkey in the late 80s (Balakisir), it clearly has not changed much. I thoroughly enjoyed it, friendly people, sort of 'beer' at 50p a glass and totally unspoilt......

enjoy the moment :)
Regards
Boz

If you look a the far right of the map. I live in the pink bit (called Izmit). Going north shows a vein of rivers, exiting in the Black Sea. Thats where we will be next weekend in Agva.
