Hi - As the title states - I have 2 questions regarding the supercharger on a kad 300

1st - is there a drain plug to drain the oil from or does it have to be/can it be sucked out using a pump?

2nd - forum users have in the past have said how the clutch can seize up on the supercharger - would silicone oil or some sort of lubricant/grease help prevent this?

Many thanks as always for any opinions given

Jon

1) yes there is a drain plug at the rear of the S/C - I think its described in the user manual. The filler/dipstick is on the top, the drain is pretty much directly underneath it.
2) Do not spray any oil/silicon/lubricant anywhere near the S/C clutch - the oil will get onto the friction surface and bu@@er it up. There is no normal reason for the clutch to seize up. The 2 main clutch parts only contact at the friction surface when its engaged. If you want to check yours, turn the outer part by hand (the outer face with the 3 metal strips/triangle bit) that is bolted to the S/C drive shaft. It should turn easily and smoothly. The other part is driven by the poly V belt from the water pump and that turns when the engine turns.

Thank You Kashurst for your help.
I have now changed the oil which came out a light brown colour and had a sort of caramel aroma.
Thanks again
Jon
