Hi kids. The company is sold and looks like Irma took care of selling the old 62 sport fish. So we want to replace our boat with something like an 82 predator or v78 princess to be based in the med. we can squeeze a more nth in the summer tops. The rest of the time we can pick up a few charters. Most boats we are looking at are in SOfF or. Mallorca.

So. Where so we go n XM year for four weeks? Lets assume we are based this it of Antibes. Would like to have ne or two crew tops.

Largely depends on the ratio of time relaxing lunching and lounging and travelling you want to do .
The travel bit burning fuel and eating €€€ in Berthing fees .

You could spend 1 month just easily just lounging / relaxing never going more than 30 miles each day in more or less different anchorages -- such is the coastline in the Cote d Azur .

Or do this

Head W to the Porqurolle islands via the bay of St Trop .
After a few days Turn S to Corsica ,Calvi ,
Head down the W coast ,various stops ,
Madellana Islands ( between Corsica and Sardinia ) -- kill a few days there .
Explore the expensive marinas NW Sardinia ,
Head to the S tip .
Turn W to Italys Amalfi coast , via Capri .
Head N to Elba -- call in @ Rome
Kill a few more days around Elba , excursion to Pisa 1/2 a day N
Nip back to Corsica over Cap Corse -- kill a few more days N E Corsica
Return to Antibes 4 hrs maybe chill off Cap Feret .

Depends on the ratio of --- relax / adventure
Get something with two generators ,a water maker and decent tender if you fancy the bigger trip and don,t go in August the restaurants are crowded .

As Portofino says it depends how much time you want to spend on the move. If you're only in the SoF for one summer, and you want to see as much of the surrounding area as you can, then you could do the trip he mentions (plus some time on the Cote d'Azur itself), but it's a very busy itinerary, even with 4 weeks to kill. Total distance around 1,500NM. If you want to shorten it, then i'd skip the south of Sardinia and Amalfi coast, just because it's a long trip to get there, and there's so much else to see in the other areas he mentions. That would get it under 1,000NM.

It also depends which kind of places you like to visit. If you like the high life then you'll probably want to spend more time on the Cote d'Azur, whereas if you like anchoring over white sand beaches then head for the Porquerolles or the N and S ends of Corsica. For dramatic scenery then you can't beat the wild west coast of Corsica, although the Calanques to the W of Toulon are also quite stunning. The islands and mainland coast of Tuscany have lots of lovely small towns to explore, often with great anchorages next to them, and you could add on the coastline between Portovenere and Portofino to the N.
