So, got the boat, got the kids, would it be too chilly to take the family this weekend for our 1st sleep on board? Will we be the only nutters on the riverbank or others out motor boating this weekend? Quite daunting for a new boy!

think i added an icon......

someone said cookham might be a good stopping point, is captain hooks still open?

I assume you mean The Bounty, well yes it is.

As for a first outing, this weekend looks like it will be reasonably warm so there could be plenty of traffic so best to pick your spot early. That being said, Apollo is correct in saying that a good number will be on their way to Henley on Saturday for the TVR returning on Monday so that will relieve a bit of pressure on the likes of Cookham and Marlow.

Expect showers, but it'll be warm enough.

Both mine are under 26', so not huge, unlike some of these guys 'liners'

If Captain Hooks is the Bounty as said then it is open, and the land lady is classic, always has me laughing. You can moor for free at the bounty overnight if you use the Pub and if they are in a good mood they will even bring your food order to the boat. If you do want power (as you can't use a portable genny there becuase of the houses) The Marina across from the pub will overnight you for a fee. We usually just sling ourselves on the fuel pontoon as usually arriving late afternoon. Nice guys and there is a restaurant called OTT which is I hear not the cheapest but decent. Bourne end is great to stock up on any required alchohol and snacky stuff.

We intend on mooring at Cliveden on Saturday....if the boards are not on red....1st one on this boat, and with the mutts on board as well! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
