1GM10 temperature sensor thread

I’ve had to remove the temperature sensor on my 1GM10 in order to be able to replace the anode. There is no washer or gasket, I assume this is normal as it hasn’t leaked. Should I just dab some grease on it ?
 
It looks like this ?
with a tapered thread ?
if so a little grease will probably do the trick, otherwise some thread sealant or even ptfe tape

don't forget you don't want to isolate the sensor from the engine block as you wont get the signal out of it. Tapered thread, just tightened mine, used nothing.
BTW, iirc it's not a temp sensor but a temp switch closing circuit at 90C

Thanks for that, good point about not isolating. Switch, of course! Ta.

Good point. PTFE tape might not be the best choice. :oops:
