Hello - I have a 11m wooden sailboat built by Percy M See. I am trying to find out any information about the designer and more about my sailboat. If anyone has any information I would be blessed!

Thanks,
Brent

Thank you for the message. I did see the previous thread about Percy M See. I have had the sailboat in the Med since 2014. And yes, a lot of love and maintenance required for the wooden beauties and of course the the extra care in the Med.

Cheers,
Brent

That's a good looking boat and a very nice HDR photo of her.
It's reminiscent of a Camper and Nicholson design although the doghouse windows are different.

@springbrent .
Percy M See was my friends familys company which they ran from the late 50,s. They continued to build boats under the new ownership.
He might be able to give you some information if your boat was built during their ownership.
They gave all remaining plans and history to fareham museum.
The later chandlery and motorbike garage next door are where the boats were built.

Thank you kindly for the information. My sailboat was built in 1956. I tried looking up fareham museum but did not seem to find anything. Is that the name of the museum? Do you have any contact information or email of your friends family who continued to build boats?

You need to make a few more posts before you can access the private message system. Not sure what the minimum amount is.

Percy m see caught my attention as my friend has often told me about the boats that used to be built.
I rang him one evening ,chatted then said "tell me what you know about Percy M See".
Never once did he ask me why i was so interested !

Looks a little like a VEGA 38 built in Poland in the 50/60s but the doghouse windows are different.

Nothing like a Nic 38 which was actually designed by John Alden's office for GRP production and was a development of their Challenger design but with a fixed keel rather than a centreboard. Similar though to many boats of the era which followed the same design principles.

The boat in the original post is clearly a one off designed and built by Percy See, but like the polish one follows the dominant design principles of the time.
