I am doing a little research on my small boat, which is said to have been at the 1946 Boat Show. I am told that, as it was the year after war ended, there was no Motor Show (no cars) and few boats, so the two were merged. However, I can find no reference to the event on the web.

If anyone knows if it took place, (Olympia ?) or has any records of exhibits, I would be very interested to hear .

The small boat in question is a Brooke Marine 18 ' - built in Lowestoft.

Many Thanks

Boat Show

I know I went to the 1946 Boat Show because it was the first after the war but I was only seven and have no detailed memory. Until recently I went every year.

I've just had a look through the 1946 MB & Y's, and the only reference I found was a note there was insufficient interest and it was hoped to do one in 1947.

At last the 1948 Boat Show

A bit of thread drift, but you could have bought this for £1750 at the 1948 Boat Show.

She is an ARC Marine Everyman, and by a bit of deducing we believe she is "Deben Rover", seen here at Whitsun outside my own boat

Handsome pair.
About the same price as a small detached 3 bedroom house my parents had built that year, so not a small price - but more fun than a house.
