Hi

I must be suffering from Google blindness but I can't find any iPod speakers that will plug into a 12V ciggie socket

At present I'm using rechargeable battery powered speakers, a slightly clumsy solution.

Thanks

You can use the radio speakers with a little transmitter. Or even buy a radio you can plug the IPod into.

Hi, most, if not all the speaker systems you can buy for an i-pod will have a built in transformer or a AC-DC plug, if you by-pass this with a bit of nifty rewiring you could just connect it straight into the boats 12V supply direct or via a cigarette lighter. Just check the voltage requirements before you buy.

Any that can also run off batterys will be ok.

I have an Altec Lansing InMotion IM600. This has fantastic sound. It has an internal battery and a 240v charger that produces 13v. I am certain that this would run at 12v.

It has fantastic sound quality for its size, and also has its own FM radio.

I have the altec lansing M600 too. Highly recommended and whilst the battery lasts for ages it happily recharges from a 12v supply

Thats good to know. I use mine with an Ipod classic 80Gb and primarily for audio books.

Thanks for the info

I guess I'll soon be getting an altec lansing IM 600

Where do you get hold of the 12V lead with the correct plug at the altec end?

Cheers
