12v remote on/off key fob

Remote control

With a bit of fiddling this could be used for remote anchor winch operation possibly only one direction or maybe both.
Remote muting of entertainment music source. Or remote operation of solenoids to unlock boat or lockers.
Turn lights in cockpit on on approaching the boat by dinghy. All sorts of uses olewill

Bought a similar thing, wired it up to a waterproof inspection style strip-light to use as a cockpit light primarily when returning to boat at anchor after dark - brilliant!

Cars have central locking. Why don't houses???!

SWMBO's car has remote central locking. PITA IMHO.
You return to the car with the shopping. To put it in the boot you have to unlock the entire car!

Even if you are just going to get in the car and drive off you have to unlock the whole thing boot as well.

Why can't I have a manual lock on the boot and another on the drivers door.

Its got a manual lock on the passenger's! door FFS.

Electric windows too. Nice I guess to be able to open and close the passengers side window from the driving seat. But a winding handle would do on the drivers door! Its another PITA. I arrive home , switch off, open the door to get out ..... but then cannot close the window without switching the ignition back on!
What's more something cleverer than me determines if the window is to open fully or just a bit.

Had the darn thing about 6 years and I've only just figured how to switch the radio on and off... still got to master changing the volume without washing the windscreen.

Behind the times, Vic! Most modern cars have a separate remote button for the boot/tailgate, and have a 2-stage opening sequence (driver's door only first). And as for driving with the window open.... ;)
