Boat is now back in the water, where there is no mains power.

I was wondering whether the 12V pressure washers, like, say, the Sealey 1712
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-PW1712-Pressure-Washer-Rechargeable/dp/B00GDEVHRW
might be useful.

Obviously won't be as powerful as a 240V washer, but have they got enough grunt to clean grubby decks, shift weed from the bottom if we dry out between tides, etc.?

1300Watts (???) 316l/hr, 110 bar = small jet and not much throughput.

They claim 60W motor, which makes me think they are confused., especially when they say "Rotablast Nozzlereg which helps develop the same effective cleaning power as a 187bar2720psi pressure washer ". No, it can't be true....

I clean off my boat between tides using a small 240v pressure washer powered by a generator- initially a borrowed 2kw one but I now have a 1kw of my own, which doesn't get the washer up to full power- still a very useful way of hosing the hull down to get rid of saltwater. I dip a hose into the boat's own water tanks.

I've researched the 12v washers and they seem to be designed for taking the mud off mountain bikes before sticking them the car. I was actually investigating them with a mind to building a watermaker using the pump, but none of the 12v ones I found came remotely close to the required pressure. They are just in a different league to the mains ones.

I had a Johnson deck washer it was for cleaning the anchor and chain when bringing back onto boat. It rinsed the deck for as far as the hose reached but I still had to use cleaner and a deck scrubber. It was an OK piece of kit it came with the boat, would I buy one for my current boat definitely NO!!!!

As said real pressure washing needs real power only practically available from 240 v mains or engine of several horsepower.
Any practical pump running on 12v would be puny or would draw too much current. If you want 12v high power washer a large inverter fed by a running engine charging battery to a small 240v washer might be best bet. olewill
