12v Microwave

I have just come across the Wavebox portable microwave, about £130 from in21now
Does anyone know the product and if they are up to the job?

Output Power 425W AC/Direct connect to battery. 110W vehicle power outlet

20Amps to drive 110Watts into a baked potato. would take about 40minutes to cook.

Not for me thanks.

Ah, OK, I have re-read it now. So if it's drawing 660W, it will be at 55Amps for 10 minutes to cook the same potato.

mmm. We'll stick to putting them into the gas oven.

And they'll be nice and crisp - not soggy as all micro taters are...

Thats the truth, the boat calor gass cooks the crispiest baked potatoes in the world!
Leave the islands at abersoch, switch oven on, tatties in, 1 hr later pwllheli, tie up, cook some other bits and tatties done to perfection plus the smell!!! ymmm

Ah! The baked spud test.
I don't really want one to bake spuds, more for a re-heat or to cook the odd mackerel or two.

It doesnt matter if it's a baked spud or to reheat some of MrsB's finest cuisine, 55Amps for any length of time is still going to shag your batteries!

And as for nuking mackeral ! Pan Fried or grilled are the only way for them.

Mackerel or most fish zapped for a couple of minutes or so are fantastic, only better on the BBQ.
