12v Electric Cool box

Can anyone please help my trusty 12 coolbox (came with the boat) has given up the ghost after first class service for at leat 7 years that I know of. However I thought I could just get a replacement of a similar type but all the maunfacturers now seem only to manufacture cool boxes where the lid is hinged rather than being able to lift straight off (existing one had magnets on the lid). While this is housed in a locker the access lid is smaller therefore to have a hinged lid will be problematic.
Can anyone suggest a low power 12v electric cool box with a lid that is not hinged, have tried the internet to no avail you are my last hope

Couldn't you remove the hinges and just use it as a lift-off lid?

If you can get at the inwards you should be able to get a replacement.
Look for "peltier" on E bay. The modules only cost a few pounds.

Repairing cool box

As said the peltier element can be replaced however they should be quite reliable. (poor performance but reliable) If the cool box is dead ie no fans running then probably just a broken wire or similar. Check you are getting power to it. The whole device is quite simple. The complexity being that it possibly has a switch to reverse power to the peltier element to make it a hot box.
I think by comparison you might be amazed at the performance of a compressor fridge/ freezer. good luck olewill
