Confess to being phobic when it comes to boat electrics. I’ve fitted a few things but either taken a spur off an existing instrument or used a redundant pair of wires already connected to panel, never anew connection. Seems to me exhaust temperature gauge should be connected to ignition rathe than instruments - how would I do that?
Also, regarding the sensor on the exhaust should the hole go right through the top of the hose? The sensor seems quite short but then I don’t know how thick the wall of the hose is. NASA instructions don’t mention using goo to seal up round hole/sensor so don’t know what one is meant to do there.

Just follow the Nasa instructions - drill a 5mm hole and push the sensor through, then secure with the cable ties.

Wire it to anything which becomes live when the ignition is on. The manual for your engine should have a wiring diagram of the engine panel.
