120S saildrive - scrap parts?

The rear 'engine mount' part of our saildrive has corroded away, the actual saildrive gearbox area itself. It is 43 years old so fair play. Is there anywhere that might have scrap parts or more unlikely new spares? By the way the ORIGINAL saildrive diaphragm was still on there! Degraded but still making a seal.

is it this part?

Looks like a bolt-on part and may well be available used.

But you do have to find out why it corroded as it should be electrically isolated. CAN YOU POST A PHOTO?

To be fair 43 years is a fair stint. I've a couple of Maxi 84 members of the continent looking but any leads are greatly appreciated. As far as I can see part 873149 is no longer available - scrap items are my only option. Could other part numbers also work?

Contact a specialist welder/machine shop and get it repaired and recoated. At the price and scarcity of some volvo engine parts it can be the better approach

It'll come back like new.

I know a guy local here in Clontarf, and a machine shop in Dun Laoghaire, but likely to be someone not too far from wherever you are.

You have to put some effort in to finding out who!

You could start by asking on here if you're willing to give your general area

Looks repairable. See post #7 🙂
