The small one will do the job but will take a long time! I know, the one I had just disintegrated about 2 weeks ago - I had had it for several years though. It even pumped up car tyres but again takes several minutes and don't rely on the pressure gauge, it's innacurate. Don't know about the other one as I now use a larger one(I think, it is in a much larger case with lamp) but still takes a long time for car tyres.
 
In my experience, those ultra cheapie compressors are terrible quality and only last ten minutes if they work at all. Try this one, which I am getting good results from and the gauge is actually accurate.

How would you adapt this sort of thing to pump up a small Plastimo inflatable? The pipe I have is screwed into the footpump and push-fitted into valve, which is about an inch dia. Can you buy such a thing?
