I'm on the Volvo Ocean Race Game, you don't have to pay to get round the course. I've just started leg 5 and I'm in 4754th position, and I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn 'cos the organisers started ALL the boats off at the same time. So Brendan wouldn't have started 8 hours later /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

not clear how they are being calculated but the 'formal' rankings seem a bit off at present (appreciate it is early days)

The boat that is 'ranked #1' is currently closer to rio "as the crow flies"(big crow /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) than any other boat, unfortunatly for them we have to go the other way around the planet... this is why it looks false, after another 1,000 nm or so, the early leaders will suddenly loose a lot of places.
