10 minutes from the grip of embarassment

Sorry, nothing personal- it's just the way you guys hover obviously bored in the entrance waiting for some excitement! I just don't want to provide that excitement, and please don't call me sir/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif not taken personaly. We tend to "hold" to monitor the small boat channel. To ensure you yachtie chaps are not affected by those horrible stinkie chaps and their wash from pushing you in the path of those horrible big ferries, or causing you grief on a spring ebb while trying to enter the harbour. We are also there to help those poor stinkies who get pushed out by those yachtie chaps who ignore the rules regarding exiiting the small boat channel by being too far to port. To check out errant jet skiers who get in everybody's way and ignore all the col regs! There are a whole host of other things - but boredom does not actually come into it.

Oh, I forgot also to assist those that have the inevitable breakdowns associated with owning a boat - of what ever persuasion! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Who is new QHM, and is he as in favour of volunteer patrol as the originator?
Personally think it's a good idea, as that narrow channel was much abused by the minority

David, perhaps we should give Tome an escort though the entrance on Sunday morning with blue lights an' all just to make sure he gets through OK - now that would be the height of embarassment. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif (BTW on V2 am)

Brendan - I think VHP is there to stay judging by the favourable comments that have been received so far. (apart from those who have been "nicked" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Oh no, you're ganging up on me! I'll have my equal rights assessor on deck before you can mention ballast to port, and he will be filming the encounter. I'm very clumsy with my boathook and naturally urinate in all close quarter situations. I have a blue light phobia. You have been warned/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
