1. Bowthrusters: one more hole in the hull than strictly necessary

1. Try to manoeuver a 30 ton long keeler with loads of windage in close quarters without a bowthruster and see how soon you get one....:o
2. I think his abacus has run out of beads....which may well be a euphemism :rolleyes:
 
You should hear the cavitation from his prop, makes my bowthruster seem whisper quiet. Running his engine up I thought I had a catastrophic leak and phoned the yard, they said it was likely JB's prop as they get a lot of comments.

Horses for courses, so your original comment should have been more specific, like more holes that are strictly necessary for your boat.
We love our bowthruster - especially as we opted for the hydraulic one so it doesn't run out of puff after a few squirts.
