£100,000 Speed Limit Loss

The LDNPA seem happy to have lost an extra £100,000 since the speed limit was introduced. They are going to make cuts to offset it. Bet it won't be jobs at HQ!

We went there with our rib couple of years ago and spent our money there.

never again unless they lift the speed ban?

Why do people hate our boats so much? they all seem to like cars?(that go faster and kill more people?)

It also says thay have lost £71000 in car park revenue. That's a lot or tourists. Whats the point in "peace and tranquillity" if no one goes there to enjoy it?
 
The £71,000 will be mainly from the parking at Ferry Nab where the speed boats, jet ski's and most other types of vessel used to launch. Car+Trailer was £7 a day therefore about 10,142 trips short. I believe over 1000 boats did not register this year so at about 10 trips each this covers the shortfall. On top of this you have the Parking opposite Windermere Aquatics where those who could not get on the Marina Carpark used to park, itsonlymoney knows more about that though!

So we leave with our cash and now they are in Financial trouble. Notice that they are £100K short of budget....I wonder what the actual loss really is??

I'm sorry Magnum but I have to take you to task re your description of the persons who perpetrated this unelected act.

You omitted "Looney-Leftie" which fits in just before "Liberal" and also the use of "subversive b@stards" which slots in nicely between "commie" and "tree-hugging". You may also want to consider the use of "namby-pamby" in future descriptive sentences.

And as part of their drive to recoup this loss they are................ Cutting seasonal staff at the Bowness Bay Tourist Information Office.
Less tourists ---- less information needed. Saving ? £4900.
 
And thats only the loss to the authority! that will only be a small fraction of what the local authority has really lost.

How often is it that the carparking is the most expensive item on a day out? Not often so for each of those miising car park tickets there is money not being spent on meals, drinks, shopping etc.

So really. If no ones going anymore. They can do away with the pay car park and sack all the wardens and the rest of the staff and just give the place back to nature. It might even be worth visiting then!!
