If you scroll down on the linked site, there is fairly significant discussion and testing data to be seen, all without registration. The design of the website makes it seem there is little on offer but it is there albeit in a small window. At least one of the test conculsions is unfairly...
I had a slightly hazy recollection of this type of thing being discussed previously, quick search and: http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?499393-Bird-Deterrents
Gotcha, whilst I'd read #51 it seems I chose to avoid the detail of the policies you attached, apologies.
My understanding then comes back to points made by JFM.
1.10 is an exclusion which clearly does not apply to most/all boats of the posters in this thread, so there is nothing of relevance...
I may be way off the mark here, and not sure if this thread needs more comments but here I go anyway.
Porto, the impression I get based on much of what you've written, indeed you have almost stated it without actually doing so explicitly, is that you seem to suggest that policies underwritten...
FPB, most of them could do 3 transats without refuelling. I'd take one of these over a Nordhavn any day, shame production of FPB's has now ended.
Another alternative, the LRC 58 by Dickie boats.
The Dashews did indeed particpate in the ARC (in 2010) with Windhorse though it was actually an 83 footer. They subsequently produced the FPB 64 (65 footer/near 6000nm range) for sale and later added larger models. Windhorse has a range of ~10000nm.
If you check the link I provided a couple of posts earlier you will find the tolerances, after selecting France ofc rather than Spain as linked. If you cannot be bothered:
TOLERANCE: 5 km/h under 100 km/h, 5% over 100 km/h.
My understanding (which may well be inaccurate!) is that it's not possible to be given points on your UK licence.
Some may find this site useful, which I've referred to previously: http://www.speedingeurope.com/spain/
For alternatives you might find Vesper Marine worth looking at, they appear to do a system with dedicated screen that is both send and receive. I seem to recall Noelex using some of their gear for his new build and has detailed some early experience, he has a thread in PBO section...
Bit of a ressurection but might be useful for someone who hasn't made alternative arrangements since this all blew up: https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2018/05/17/photobucket-drops-pricing-that-angered-millions.html
I've not noticed these guys mentioned so far: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbU2ulPD3rJ4OZCNH7-gjjQ
Amiable Aussie couple working their way around many areas of the Aus coast that are less well travelled (along with the more well known too) They have a great attitude towards frugality and...
It's actually worse than it intially appears. I spent a few mins looking in more detail as they seem like rather nicely crafted pieces. The prices I listed above are actually without VAT, fittings or shipping.
The vid states made by Exit Engineering, searching that gives https://exitcarbon.com/
Unsure which model your vid shows, the one I thought closest from a brief glance is called the "Diana" but you can decide for yourself. It seems ordering can be done from the site, and there is a price list...
Their website is confused on this too. Two models, apparently with differing types of operation. The how it works blurb states this:
"Deck-Guard has been specifically designed to emit frequencies at 30kHz to 55kHz, the level of frequency that deters birds of all sizes.
These frequencies (aside...
