Gave up on MBY a while back. Nothing of interest in it for me. Great coffee table magazine to impress your friends though 😁. Likewise I’ve given up on the MBY YouTube channel too.
MBM was always the better of the two publications IMHO.
Thanks OG.
IIRC a company in Norfolk (possibly Windboats?) built a series of boats with seacrete hulls back in the 1960s as hire boats. I don’t think they were terribly successful. I wonder if any have survived.
Only discovered this recently so I’m on catch-up starting from season one.
I’m curious about the longevity of waterproof concrete hulls.
And the sanity of the couple who spent £700K on one with an underwater window so they could watch the fish swim by. No safety features so if the window fails...
Happy to hear other points of view but the Solent does seem much busier post Covid yet the capacity of the favoured places to go hasn’t changed materially. If I have guests on board I have no option but a short stay for lunch as I can’t accommodate them overnight. Such trips this year have been...
Used to moor at Penton

My favourite though was Fridays Takings. Always wondered what line of business he was in as it was on a large Sealine or something similar.
Many thanks ?. From my admittedly limited experience thus far the Windy hull inspires real confidence in the boat’s abilities and I do plan to be more adventurous. I promise ?
Hi Greg. I will admit it’s a bit of an about turn but I wanted to put the fun back into my boating.
IMHO the 32OS isn’t an offshore hull. One reason for buying it was the Andrew Woltstenholme hull as he designed the 42cl I had. Let’s just say his idea of coupling a big keel to a planing hull...
I did read threads on here about the Windy 37, KAD300s and DPG legs before shortlisting the boat, and researched elsewhere. Lots of advice too from my engineer who knows his way around Volvos, and the surveyor who’s Volvo accredited. Sadly, some of the good guys who used to post on here no...

A latecomer to my shortlist of possible boats having been disappointed with pretty much every other sports cruiser I’d looked at for one reason or another. This ticked all the boxes and just felt right from the moment I stepped aboard. The sea trial and survey clinched it. And a full...
Sadly the Haines I took delivery of a bit over a year ago didn’t work out. Sold within days fortunately. Fancied something guaranteed to put a smile on my face and bought this. Still got some fettling to do but I’m seriously impressed, and still grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Haines 32 Offshore (sedan style cruiser). Not looking for a showroom job, just a decent clean and polish. Gunwales up only as hull was done when it was antifouled last week. Boat is only just over a year old so should be an easy job.
Can anyone recommend a boat cleaner in the Gosport area? I need the topsides cleaned and polished and haven’t used anyone in that neck of the woods before.
Thanks
