Three things that seem to have made seeing the green flash more likely in my experience
1.No cloud on the horizon
2.A good size swell
3.Starting the sundowner rum punch early
I used Sandtex over Interdeck after scraping off any loose paint. It adhered well so I’m not sure removal of deck paint prior to using Sandtex is necessary.
Another vote for Sandtex. I painted over blue interdeck with cream sandtex. Sanded with coarse paper to remove any loose paint then two coats covered the blue. A third coat would have looked better though. That was 4 years ago and it’s still fine, but not as easy to keep clean as the Interdeck was.

Probably better to have the carbon filter upstream of your 1micron filter. In my experience carbon filters can shed particles which you wouldn’t want on your Watermaker membrane.
I also use a fortress with a rope only rode. In warmer waters I usually let out more chain on the bower before snorkelling off the stern with the fortress until I find a good spot to set it. The crew then motor gently forward until it sets and on my return I shorten the bower rode again. It...
