Thanks for the input.
My filler cap is under a tarp during the winter . I think I’ll not top it up this year. I’ve never seen any water in the water separator or fuel filter. Also means I won’t be carting 40litres of fuel round the course.
I usually fill my polypropylene tank (40ltrs) during winter layup. But with the issues around bio diesel I am wondering whether or not to bother ?
We run a small tube heater and dehumidifier when ashore.
We barely get through a tank in a season as we mainly race. We use the engine primarily...
I posted about this a couple of months ago.
We haven't had an issue since and have concluded that there was a temporary blockage of the sail drive raw water inlet. we have motored further with higher revs for longer periods.
I would say be vigilant and monitor it if it happens again then...
I There
how do you check the inside of a sail drive leg ? I clear the 3 holes of debris and push a long screwdriver up the hole in the bottom, there is always shell debris that falls out. I did consider putting a pressure washer down the entry hole in the water strainer, but thought better of it 😳
My MD2020 has just started overheating. Trying to figure out why.
Over the winter I replaced the coolant , is it possible to get an air lock when you refill it ?
The other possible cause is I replaced the oil as usual but the supplier sent a different filter to one from previous years it...
😔 guess I won’t be prioritising racing this year. The roller caster that has been my swytc handicap has reared its ugly head Again.
After a few years of sanity and good fun close racing the powers that be have decided to cut my handicap by thirteen points. Since having our current boat our...
A bit of a hijack here sorry, if a boat was in Guernsey at the end of 2020 is that vat paid in the U.K. or did the Channel Islands have different rules ?
Quite a lot of upwind and light which the 3300 don’t like so much. But I was surprised that the 3600 had the better of them. Apparently they aren’t making anymore 3600’s
It’s a shame there were no JPK 1030’s or J99’s as it would have been good to compare. I’m not 100% convinced on the 3300’s think there may be a lot of hype as the were tagged as the boat for the Olympic double handed thats is not happening any more. Currently looking for a 1010 if I can get one...
Trawled the internet and can’t seem to find a straight answer to the question :-
If you buy a new boat in the EU do you pay vat if you export it immediately And have no intention of using it in EU waters ?
I have read online you can have a boat non vat paid in the EU for thirty days before it...
Thanks for the info.
If could get hold of a 1010 I'd get one. There are a few in france but it means paying the vat again. So I started thinking of a new boat as at least you only pay one lot of vat ! probably end with what we've got for awhile.
