I’ve been following this for while, loaded with practical advice and experiences, many thanks.
How much T&E do you put into this, thinking about it this could be a huge job in itself, what’s been your MO with the other decks, to what lengths do you go and how?
Only shaved it, the 3rd moon shape of the blade is a perfect width to shave in one run with very minimal snagging to the deck if at all, it’s barely a mm wider each side of the caulking so if it does snag to the teak it only enhances the flat level between the 2.
I’ve seen the removal tool on a...

I sourced this tool a few months ago and thought I’d share my thoughts having now trimmed every single black caulking line on a SQ58 in less than 2 hours without the need for sanding at all! Bathing platform, cockpit, side decks and fly. I’d researched and watched many video’s...

i’ll measure the hole too but i only need the bulb and resister from it. If all else fails I’ll try Wilko’s :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
much appreciated starfire.
Great thread, very informative and it looks amazing.
I’m considering the same on identical boat and wondered how it’s held out over the last 3 years?
- Any “benefit of hindsight thoughts”
- You happy its lasting the test of time
out of interest when it came to the flybridge, did you remove...
So, just a small one (literally) but it’s beginning to bug me now, I just can’t seem to find the bulbs that go in here? Ive tried a couple of alternatives with no success
Any ideas would be much appreciated,
Air Con problem solved! It’s been running for 2 days and all is good.
I’ve also taken the liberty to change the Hose from the seacock to the pump. Ive used a clear one In order to detect early signs of growth (or fowling) etc. The old hose was of the sort that had the re-in forcing steel thread...
Last October before it went on the hard, 6m of of everything drying up, calcifying, salt drying etc etc, turning into concrete. I’ve got same problem with 1 of the 2 water pumps and shower sump, they’re a lot easier to tackle though.
Boats are made for water, next time when out or even when not...
Work in progress, some developments last week. Raw water pump has been out (the one under the plate as you said) It was stuck solid!! Everything lubricated, freed up and sealed, bronze Impeller intact and runs a treat in the workshop, going back in today so will update further when its done.
Might just have to bite the bullet, keep the old, strip it down, put new capacitor in for the cost and keep as spare… if this thing has done 15 years I have to admit that’s fair game.
Well, Ed cleared the strainer when we first noticed Aircon wasn’t playing, and I’m sure Albert would have eased back the seacock with the lid off to check flow, but I’ll ask. Your correct to suggest it, he’s good and I’m sure knowing his thoroughness would have??
I’ve got this picture, Ed Engel has been on the boat for last week doing his thing and had a root through manuals and found this.
Now albeit I’m practical your references regards curves etc are a little out my league. So, in your opinion does this answer any of your suggestions?

An engineer all things boats and in particular Volvo engines has done some investigation, there’s no raw water coming in and therefore non coming back out via the port exhaust. He’s took off hoses etc and forced fresh water through it. He seems convinced but have put benefit...
Many thanks for the feedback, I’ve been looking into everyone’s points, The boats In Mallorca, Nauticool coming back to me with availability and cost. Price in Mallorca like for like is e2700 and an alternative e1560 which I’m waiting for the name of and will ask for your opinions. Capacitor...
