Me neither. I think I would stick with Pico - still quite a lot of time until summer to consider other options.
For pottering round (getting my son bored really!) I have Sadler 25 :)
Again, sorry for confusion. This is what happens when I try to post during 5 minutes break ;)
No, son is not an adult, he is nearly 13 and growing.
The reason I am asking for 2 adults is that I am looking for a boat that we could grow into. Or take a guest on my own.
I sailed Pico with my son...
Hi, thanks for the answers. Do you really think that 2 people can fit on the Laser? Boom is very low compared to Pico and it's hard work. I understand giving a ride, sure, but not for regular sailing.
Its been 3 years since I sailed my Laser and I am afraid I need to sell it. But as alternative I am thinking to buy 2 people dinghy that I could occasionally sail with my son. Budget is rather low - say 500-1000 as I won't be using the dinghy too often. Should I stick with Pico or there are some...
Almost my prints are done from PETG (almost like plastic bottles). Its UV resistant. And they are non-structural, or the loads are small. I am looking into starting using carbon fiber to strengthen the prints for more challenging use - for example, one of my projects is self-steering gear. But...
Let me show you my 3d prints - all designed by myself.
Plastimo hand bearing compas bracket.
Bracket installed on the boat - with off-duty crew on the picture.
Toilet hinges - dimensions exactly as original, survived lot of use :D I think those are much stronger then the originals.
Cable...
OMG, late evening, a bit of lager and I just got an epiphany on how to solve eye nuts that I need so badly but I won't be paying 1.2 for the piece! Thank you for the inspiration :D
I ended up buying this antenna: Shakespeare MD20N Extra Heavy Duty 0.93m Stainless Steel VHF Whip Antenna (818-MD20N) and this cable: High quality RG8X 50 ohm Aerial/Antenna cable
Cable connected directly from antenna to radio. Very good reception.
Little bragging, sorry ;)
I remember the support I got here when I sailed for the first time to Felixstowe from Blackwater and last year to Ramsgate. It was quite scary and wanted to be well prepared. But I guess I got some confidence and having now big boat (Sadler 25) ,well equipped - I...
I did it twice this year. Navionics from 2022 covers it quite well. Once in LW, the waves where showing quite well where I should go. And second time was HW-3 during the night.
Or you could 3d print one for like 5p ;) Not as pretty as one from the shop, but works very well. The hole in the deck is larger than PL259 and have one length or RG8X cable.
