    Books for your voyage

Sailed to Netherlands with a retired Farmer friend many years ago. Mid-summer so I had a new bottle of sun tan cream. However, for a change, I read the directions which said that one must shower and 'exfoliate'. Neither of us had a clue what this meant and no dictionary to hand (pre internet...

Tips for removing small screws ?!

In desperation you could lever the hinge near the offending screw with a screwdriver. That would either pull the screw out enough to grab it with pliers etc or if thin metal pull the hinge off the screw head. If done carefully any marks in the wood will be covered by new hinge. Maybe a small...

Generic pump to fit Jabsco heads. Any good?

Thank you for the replies. Just as I thought, but worth the question for your valued response.

Generic pump to fit Jabsco heads. Any good?

I was considering asking the exact same question as the OP did 4 years ago but reading the hilarious and honestly useless answers received I am swayed towards spending the extra £30 on the Jabsco original from local Seamark Nunn. However, curiosity as it is, I wondered if anyone had actually...

    Sail laundry

Soaked in bath of Vanish Gold for 3 days. Rinsed 3 times in warm water. Transported to rotary clothes drier in large plastic sack. Came up a treat. (I will add that I rarely bathe, shower preferred and I am not married, no comment).

    Best UV resistant adhesive sealant?

I suppose its impossible to come to a conclusion as perhaps there are many variables. From this discussion I agree with some that clear CT1 works but peels off after a couple of years. I have now decided to go for one contributors solution and try Screwfix for Dow 791. Don't please advise me to...

How to remove stuck drain screw on Mariner 2M

No one mentioned a hot air gun? As well as an impact screwdriver of coarse. I have released 100 year old woodscrews with the heat from a soldering iron.

    Deben entrance 2024

Would not these sinkers rapidly become covered in shingle and literally sink? I doubt they would just sit ontop of it. Also hitting a shingle bank at 8 knots would surely cause as much damage as hitting a sinker weight? Possibly also a little foolhardy to sail into the river at 8 knots?

    Barges for sale

Cygnet was an old friend and was sailing the East Coast singlehanded out of Snape Maltings up to a couple of years ago. I have had the privilege of helming myself. A great boat that needs getting back into shape.

    Essex or Suffolk charters

This by coincidence popped up on my Facebook. Probably not what the OP was after but I found it interesting so decided to share. Sea to Peak Expeditions, leaving from Felixstowe Ferry. www.seatopeakexpeditions.co.uk

    Dremmel woes

I would suspect that it didn't like being stored unused in a shed for a few changeable seasons?

    Essex or Suffolk charters

I think you may be right there. I've lived here most of my life and never heard of any where. Sailing schools yes, boat charters, mnn not so sure.
