The split charge diode in the 2nd picture is specifically for the bow thruster battery. Centre post is from alternator… Can’t comment on smaller wires on pic 1, I need to investigate, I assume like that from new. Centre post is from alternator..

Quick clarification- you call the first image a diode block even though it is labelled a multi battery isolator, is that correct? Also are you saying that you feel the problem maybe there and is so to replace that unit with a VSR. Is it possible to check outputs on that isolator to further...

No - all batteries were cold, all connections good. Resting voltage was 12.6v. Engine started perfectly when using just the engine battery (before using linking key to domestics)

I have a D2-75 with a similar issue. Traced mine to a small hole at the back of the inter cooler that allows condensation to escape but oily water drips down. After a lot of emails to Volvo they fitted a catch can with a pipe connected to the hole at back of intercooler.

Met Volvo Penta engineer on boat today. He fitted larger jubilee clips, but I do not think this is the way forward. No other D2-75 I have seen has had to go down this route and it maybe masking other problems. The Volvo dealer is contacting Volvo Penta UK to find out what they suggest. Thank you...

Thank you for all your replies. The engine had only done 100 hours when jubilee clip problem was first noted. When the turbo was overhauled it had a new actuator fitted. The problem then occurred within 20 hours of use. I use mixed revs, occasionally max revs to burn of carbon deposits. This was...
