I've used "Patio Cleaner" from B&Q with good results on both wood & gel coat to remove growth/stains. Brush on, leave for a while then hose off. I think it's about £4 for 10L. <hr width=100% size=1>

I agree, it is that simple. I use an old Acer laptop, Garmin 45!! & Oziexplorer (download from their site) & scanned charts, it can use many file types & does many things Maptech won't . I've ordered that cd from ebay 2 c what's on it, 4 the price u can't go wrong. I'll post details if u want...

Isn't there a saying that any boat can be sailed anywhere, but not by anyone! Perhaps more emphasis is being put on equipment that ability. It's well recognised that when the going gets rough the crew tends to pack in before the boat does. Sorry to be so pessimistic but I think the earlier msg...

Re: GPS v Log, some numbers. This last weekend I sailed a return trip to a harbour 25 miles away. My Garmin45 indicated boat speed varying between 2 &3 knots whilst my log needle sulked in the corner. On the return trip un a reach readings were 2.8 up to 7.4 on a reach, the log indicated 3 kts...
