KBT, do you have to disconnect the lines from the wheel to tack?

I would be interested to know the different methods used for tacking with a wind vane if you have a wheel helm.

theotter, I have bought a Neptune windvane for my 423, having a mounting designed as I write. How have you got on with yours so far, how easy do you find it to tack it?

Does anyone have experience of sailing in the Cape Verdes? I'm thinking charter, wind speeds, sea state, rocks, moorings, anchoring etc...
