XR had a pink Silhouette that they used at the Fawley protests in Southampton. I overtook it on the M27 being hauled by an old Hilux.
The pink Sadler I last saw at the 2022 Southampton boat show when it was beating aggressively towards the pontoons until its course was ‘actively corrected’ by...
I remember my dad selling our centaur in 1996 for £14k. Bonkers really. How times change.
The one advertised at £7995 must be absolutely top notch now. I’ve seen them go for less than £1k - not forgetting that boat scrapyard in Portsmouth seem to scrap them on a monthly basis.
I too have a longish fin, skew mounted rudder but no room for a folding prop - there’s about 60mm between the prop and skeg.
My top tips would be:
Master your prop walk.
Learn to use ropes.
Be assertive in not bending to the will of berthing masters who want to pop you in unfavourable berths...

I’m a very happy customer of Chargemetrix. About £200 for the box and £40/year.
Nice app, batteries, bilges and anything else you want to connect to an12v sensor - mine tells me when the fridge is on!
This is literally my exact setup; Yanmar 2GM20 and an Autoterm 2D both fed from a CAV filter.
Tap on both and non return valve on heater feed.
HOWEVER even with a non return valve fitted in line before the heater fuel pump, the heater will not run with the engine running.

I completely agree. I've saved a fortune not renting. But living aboard a smallish boat in the UK is a lifestyle choice. As a sailor, my priority is a seagoing vessel, not 'normal' living experience. And that requires compromise, but that in turn means I've been lucky to enjoy a life afloat.

:ROFLMAO: Nope, £12k over 10 years on maintenance and 'toys'. Which I think is a bargain when you consider the cost of new sails, modern electronics, domestic systems, standing rigging, solar, batteries, etc...
She is a well found boat and was in 'sail away' condition when I bought her, but over...
Weirdly, I was doing the maths on this today. I've lived on board for 10 years - somehow I've managed not to make a YouTube channel - but I get really fed up with all the nonsense 'true cost of boat ownership' videos.
The percentage rule is rubbish and probably the wrong way around? The cost of...
Indeed, when applying for mine, 850X was available for £510 which I rather fancied for my Cobra 850... but it went most of the way towards the cost of a job which has been rather more useful.
I opted for 5590L (5590 is also my GP14). I was given the 'early issue' rate of £45; that's for numbers...
