    Another blatant plug....

Well, Ross has done all my servicing/mechanical/electrical modifications over the last 4 years and I have to say I've never come across a more reliable, helpful and knowledgable bod. I've had some bad experiences in the past with some engineers (particularly some attached to marinas it seems)...

    Rope rubbing strake

Excellent all, thank you. Apologies for the late acknowledgement. For some reason I couldn't access the forums last time I tried. Looked like I was being blocked by a pop up script.

    Rope rubbing strake

Thanks Philip, that sounds like an excellent way to mount it! Very helpful.

    Rope rubbing strake

Thanks ghostly. I've had a look at euroropes but they seem to only do up to 36mm diameter and Jimmy Green 50mm. Ideally I'd like something closer to 100mm.

    Rope rubbing strake

Hoping someone here can help. I'm refitting an old day boat and would like to fit a rope rubbing strake. Problem is I can't seem to find a supplier. Any ideas please? I could also do with some advice on how to fit it once I've found it! Many thanks

    Outboard engineer????

I'm hoping that someone might know of an outboard engineer in the Windsor area who can give a full service to my 9.9 Yamaha which is overdue and seriously playing up! Any names/numbers would be very gratefully received!

Yamaha 9.9 (white) running rough when warm

Mine is the old white 9.9 too and I've got a similar problem that has defied diagnosis! It seems to run ok for a few minutes and then power drops to virtual idle. It keeps running but even on full throttle does little more than putt along - then suddenly it kicks in and your off (as much 'off'...

    Electric Struts

And very smart they look too - shame you can't get the arch down past your blue ensign!

    Water pump gone again!!!!

Thanks very much all. I've replaced the pump with a Par Max 4 (Jabsco) - purely because it comes with a 3 year guarantee and didn't break the bank. I'm getting a heavy duty pressure switch in the next few days. Never ceases to amaze how the word 'marine' puts at least one nought on any price.

    Water pump gone again!!!!

I would normally try to fix as well but since my last post the pump has packed up completely - won't come on at all! Haven't got the time to fix it as SWMBO doesn't like flannel baths! Looking at a Jabsco sensor max 17 - anyone using one? I'll take the old one apart and try to fix as a spare...

    Water pump gone again!!!!

I'm trying to communicate with Shurflo but not getting anything back other than they don't make that pump anymore. Very helpful!

    Water pump gone again!!!!

Third one in three years! A Shurflo 24v 45psi pump was fitted when I bought the boat and I replaced it with the same model April 2008. The pressure switch has gone so it wont switch itself off now which is a pain! I love the pressure - great showers - but am looking for something more reliable...
