The bypass is the small hole just to the left of the copper pipe which connects to the thermostat housing. The hole in the housing with the rubber o ring lines up with it.
I have experienced the by pass itself becoming blocked so no cooling water flows until the thermostat opens. It might be...
The sail is in good condition but the UV strip stitching is frayed and needs completely redoing.
I would be grateful for recommendations for such a job anywhere between Yarmouth and Ipswich.
Thanks in anticipation.

Cooling water circulates in the block , particularly around the cylinders. Just look at a head gasket & you will see the holes where coolant flows. I cleaned an MD7A head/block in preparation for fresh water cooling when it started overheating after around 1500 hours and the block water...
Thanks for your responses. It is indeed a saildrive VP 110S and the prop does have a solid hub. The erosion of the saildrive anode has never been heavy so now that I understand the situation a bit more I am content to fit the prop. I can always dry out (twin keel) & see how it is going.
I have acquired an old Volvo Penta two bladed folding prop PN 385563 as a spare for my existing prop. However, while cleaning it up I have just realised that there is nowhere to fit an anode on the hub unlike my current hub which is designed to take a 3 segment zinc anode. The prop is...
Pair of Seasure bikes. 20"wheels, 6speed Shimano gears, rear suspension and luggage rack at rear. Complete with storage/carry bags.
Bikes very lightly used but a few scratches and bit of superficial rust on the chrome bits. due storage. Surprisingly easy to ride.
£100 for the pair but happy...
Damian Likely did an insurance survey for me 3 years ago. He spent about 6 hours on a 9m boat and it was the best survey I have had in 30 years. I was in attendance & he took time out to explain everything he was doing and why, so I learned a great deal about my boat and it helped me develop a...
I had a leak in a saildrive 110S where the oil was slowly leaking through the seals at the gear lever input and running down the side of the gearbox onto the diaphragm. It was quite hard to find. From what I can see the input to the SD120 is similar with items 35 & 39 on the Volspec exploded...
Hi Sharkbait & congratulations. Join the Leisure owners association. There is loads of info there including rebuilding L27 skeg. You can also help drain the skeg by drilling holes in the base & filling afterwards. I haven't actually done that but I am sure there are people here who have done...
The Leisure 27 is a well built boat with very good acommodation for its size. Loads of information and support via the Owners Association -£10 Life membership!
