Are lazy jack sail covers not waterproof

my preference was for lazyjacks that were lowered and pulled out of the way before a proper 'old fashioned sail cover was put over the lowered sail, now tied with a few flat sail ties. sail cover rolled along the boom before hoisting and unrolled back to put in place over lowered sail using a...

    Westerly 33 Ketch sail replacements

Yes to all but most important is to discuss with the sailmaker what you personally want/expect from cheapest to longest lasting and just adequate to truly excellent performance even when reefed the end cost is often mostly in the labour so upgrading cloth may increase the overall cost less...

Years ago we had a Maplins little gizmo like a mini satellite dish, worked really well but maplins long gone. problem AIRC is you need 2 way transmission source to receiver and receiver back to source, there must be a similar device out there and most likely even better.,

    Marina electricity usage/cost

I thought by law they can only charge what the marina pays itself plus a service charge. we are currently paying 17.4p but for how long who knows have not been told, we pay quarterly, and marina is in administration so who knows. we run our Ebberspacher D5 diesel heater an hour each day to...

Water ingress - Sounding the hull

The exhausts run through grp tunnels bolted on the external aft quarters, leaky bolts? our surveyor on purchase investigated the rust stains inside on ours but found no actual leakage problem. Otherwise we have PSS type Stern glands on ours and some types of such face seals can move under...

    Touch screen MFDs

There are some other very minor differences between std and pro, like card slot location on front i believe but nothing that bothered me. Paul Rainbow of this parish might add to that as he knows his Raytheon stuff The remote for me avoids the need to stand up or risk my hand through helm spokes.
