    Internal/external GPS aerial?

I fitted the antennae for my new Garmin plotter internally but will move it to the pushpit this weekend. Went up to Bucklers Hard on Saturday and the plotter showed my 50m inland. Suboptimal! It does pick up satellites but accuracy isn't sufficient. Maybe just my boat or the location of the...

New Beta or new Nanni ?

Likewise sailorman, the belt on my 37hp Beta goes inside the input and output hoses from the water pump. A pain to change. Mine has a V belt rather than poly V and it needs changing regularly. Other than that its a great unit. Look for the poly V which I expect is now standard.

Labour cost for radome fitting to mast ?

    Dorades and granny bars

No, not a post about drink establishments for old ladies, its about ventiliation not inebriation. I am looking to fit dorade boxes to replace the existing vents on my coachroof. Current vents can't be used while sailing (due to sheets pulling off the cowl) or when leaving the boat on the...

Many thanks for all these excellent replies. Awol, it is a bit soft down here and I will have to find someone more local. Hayling trailers sounds like a good option. I'll PM the other respondents Cheers all

    Galvanizing in Pompey

Anyone know if it is economical to regalvanize an anchor and chain? My 50m chain and, to a lesser extent, 25 lb CQR have lost their galvanizing and have a layer of surface rust. Any ideas of a company that does this in the Solent area? Many thanks R

    sumlog accuracy

Parts for a Sumlog I'm not giving up on the old sumlog yet, mostly because I can't afford a nice new electronic log. I'll have to stick to "If its broke, fix it" for now. Does anyone know where I can get hold of a new cable? Thanks for any help

Sigma 33 as a first boat?

Thanks for the replies. Is sounds like the Sigma is a good choice, provided I spend some money on sail handling gear. Happy sailing
