Mary Rose Museum - visiting by yacht

Best Restaurant in Gosport is the New Bengal in Stoke Road assuming you like Indian Food. It's a 5-10 minute walk from Haslar, which would be my choice having been a berth holder both there and at Premier. Royal Clarence is nice and peaceful, but a bit far from the ferry. I would not touch Gun...

    Seacocks

When I had my gas safety check, the engineer told me it was now illegal to have a seacock on the gas locker drain. He got round this by opening the seacock on my drain and then removing the handle.

    A Centaur with a Tiger's Head?

Could it be a Pageant? They were 23 feet and had the knuckle on the hull, but the cabin top had no step like a a tiger.

Sail drive rubber bellows Volvo Penta

The problem is you don't know what you've got until the leg is split. I had mine split after 8 years last summer to reveal a badly corroded leg, which was also just eight years old. It was never satisfactorily explained, but necessitated a new leg. From the outside, it appeared fine.

MacWester Rowan 22 long keel vs Westerly Cirrus 22 fin keel

I had a trial sail in both these boats when they were new more years ago than I care to remember! As has been said, the Westerly has a much better sailing performance and I ordered one. Westerly then stopped making the Cirrus and gave me a Tiger for the same money, which is a fine boat.

    AIS Loss of Range

The nice chap who bought my boat contacted me today to say that he has suffered a sudden loss of range on the AIS, which is now down to about 4 miles, and could I help, but sadly I am at a loss. The unit is a Digital Yacht AIT2000 paired to a Garmin 5012 plotter, any suggestions would be welcome.

    Carbon monoxide detector

They do not all have replaceable batteries. I was advised to fit ones with replaceable batteries as apparently the non-replaceable do not do well in a marine environment.

    Garmin Charts

Hi Paul Many thanks, that's a great help. Would I be right in thinking that a 5012 is a 5x0 in the table? Rick

    Garmin Charts

Anybody know which Garmin G3 charts are compatible with a GPS 5012? I know the EUR 001 basic is, but not which others.
