My method has been to put in an old thermostat which I have jammed open and then put the proper one back in the Spring. But this thread is telling me simply to remove the thermostat - is that better?
In line filters said £4.30 but did not reveal the total cost including postage and VAT - £13 - until it was too late to say no.
What I need to know is the model number that I can ask for at a motor spares place.
I antifoul every 25 years. In between I just dry out my bilge keeler once each summer and spend about half an hour on it with the back of a broom. Then when I haul out I pressure wash the hull.
The foam insert to the air filter on my Yanmar 2GM20 has disappeared - presumably it gradually deteriorated and was sucked into the engine - so I went to buy a new one. £44 plus VAT for a thin sheet of foam shaped into a truncated cone. Surely there must be a cheaper solution?
Raymarine won't repair this - they say they won't even repair the later ST1000 model. And in any case their system for booking in kit for repairs is ludicrously complicated and they won't accept people turning up at their premises. So is there anybody out there who does repair these old...
AH800 puzzle nearly solved. There are three wires at the plug, definitely original equipment, but the earth wire is cut off where it emerges inside the unit near the printed circuit. Why did they not use a two wire cable? Now all I have to do is to extend the cable which is just 3 inches...
