Be aware that 18650's and the other sized LiIon's such as 21700's .... can be had in TWO voltages .... 3.6V and 4.2V full charged ...

So how are you getting your cans to the boat ... swimming with them on your back ? I assume you are carrying them in the dinghy ...

18650's are too big for common use and requires a purpose sized carrier ... the 18650 refers to the physical size of the battery ...

The lithium cells above are quoted as 2600mWh compared to NiMh usually quoted as mAh so you need to divide by 1.5V to make a comparison...

Near all NiMh batterys on market now are Low Self Discharge ... its only the real cheapo ones that are not ... if you buy recognised...

How high of tank bottom - isn't that dependent on tank shape ? If its a true square tank - then 2 - 3cms can be significant fuel...

Why not use standard NiMH rechargeables ?? I buy Grundig NiMh ... they are good Low Self Discharge items - as godd as any at 2x the...

I can .... But another solution is to use multiple smaller cans like the 5ltr Screenwash / Anti-freeze plastics ... I was delivering...

Ditto ... I too do similar ... I have a 20ltr in the transom locker as back-up on my 38ftr. Before the pump - I used plastic 5ltr cans...

I bought two pumps ... one a rotary hand pump ... other a 12V plug and lead pump ... as you - no longer like humping jerry cans about...

Had to visit local supermarket - get rid of the empties .... had a look for a Santa Suit ... now all I have to do is pad it out ... fix...

Weathers still bl***** awful ... so I'm indoors thinking what to do with it !
