    Vetus wiper wiring problem

Ah right, many thanks for that. I'm not all that well clued up on electrics but I think I see what you're saying. So if I source 3 x 12v marine grade relays and wire them in between the operation switch and each motor, they *should* run independently and self park?

    Vetus wiper wiring problem

Yes, I wondered if the self parking circuit was the problem. Just occasionally they will suddenly stop and I think it might be thats because they synch up briefly allowing all three to stop at the end of a sweep. I suppose the way to test the theory is to disconnect two motors and see if the...

    Vetus wiper wiring problem

Hi all, I've just added two wiper motors, arms and blades to my Raider 18. I now have three identical Vetus motors all running through a new single Vetus two speed switch which is the correct one for the motors. My problem is that although the wipers all come on perfectly well and will switch to...

Bizarre bolt size on plastimo captains seat.

Hi all, went over to my Dads place tonight and he has boxes of imperial bolts. Turns out that the captive nuts are indeed 1/4” with 20 tpi so it’s made for the U.S. market. Found some stainless bolts online and they’ve been ordered. Thanks again chaps for solving this one, much appreciated!

Bizarre bolt size on plastimo captains seat.

Can’t really re-tap it as the insert wall is wafer thin. I’ll try the 1/4‑20 unc idea over the weekend and report back. Cheers for all the replies.

Bizarre bolt size on plastimo captains seat.

Ah, thanks chaps. Yes, I wonder if for some reason they’re fitting Imperial threads?

Bizarre bolt size on plastimo captains seat.

Hi all, I’ve bought two new plastimo captains seats for my Raider 18 but the captive nuts that are moulded into the seats are a weird size. They seem to be M6 x 1.25, which is an almost impossible size of bolt to obtain and it’s apparently only found on odd far eastern manufacturered furniture...

NASA Target depth sounder displaying ‘E’ message.

Hi all, I’ve got a Trapper TS240 with a NASA Target depth sounder. It has power to the display but lately has just been showing an ‘E’ message. Do these units ever play up if they get weed or barnacles on them? Can’t think of anything else that could be causing the error message. Any ideas please?

Ok, thanks, sounds like I definitely need to use McLube. Many thanks I'll give it a try and report back.

    Bad slides?

The slides jam even when just testing the sail on the berth in zero wind. Starting to think it’s a lubrication issue.

    Bad slides?

Hi all, I’ve got a Trapper TS240 with a new mainsail just fitted. The sailmaker fitted new slides also and they slide up and down the mast slot ok, but any breeze pushes the sail away from the mast and seems to jam the slides in the slot making raising the sail a difficult two man job with one...
