    New mainsail

I have just ordered sails from Dolphins Sails. They responded well to my request for pricing.

    PVC teak replacement

I have heard about "vacuum bagging" as part of the gluing process. Does anyone know what this is and who can do it?

    PVC teak replacement

Thanks, Tek-Dek have confirmed they can quote. Someone in our marina also suggested them as well as a couple of suggestions for flexiteek.

    PVC teak replacement

That looks good! Who fitted it, was it on the East Coast?

    PVC teak replacement

We are considering fitting PVC teak replacement on Tilly, a Jeanneau SO 409. Anyone got any advice (good/bad idea, recommend a fitter or product)?

What marinas (other than MDL at Woolverstone) have no lift-out service?

Being at Woolverstone, I feel slightly reassured that other marinas don't have a lift-out. I was worried that it was the beginning of the end for the marina. The dredging is overdue, but hopefully MDL will keep on with the marina and not just rely on the holiday chalets for their income. It...

What marinas (other than MDL at Woolverstone) have no lift-out service?

MDL's Woolverstone marina has just announced that it is stopping the boat lift out service. Are there any other marinas with more than 300 berths that don't offer this service? It seems fundamental to keeping a boat. "After much consideration by myself and the MDL Board we have therefore taken...

    Fitness & Sailing

Stand on one leg as you clean your teeth. It was suggested to me by a physio and I have done it ever since. Harder on a boat than at home!

    Fitness & Sailing

Half an hour strong swimming is quite tiring, I would target that if you are not a regular swimmer. Also some pools' Covid restrictions mean you can only book half hour sessions.

    Fitness & Sailing

I am surprised no one has mentioned swimming. Its good for fitness, core strength, most muscles and comes in handy if you fall off your boat. The pools have re-opened so give it a go!

MDL has said that from 4th July we can stay overnight on our boat and that visiting boats will be welcome.

    Marina bill received

MDL Woolverstone rates are up 3%. I love the wide pontoons and the river view so I will pay up. Wish it was cheaper though! Happy Christmas

    Recommend me a tender...

I've got A Seago 270 with an inflatable floor. It was the best compromise of being fairly light to handle, has large "tubes" and seaworthy. I would get an electric pump to inflate it. I use a Halfords portable battery for starting cars rather than bother with long 12v cables.

Arriving at Southwold against an ebb tide

We didn't make it on Saturday after all, being put off by the strong winds forecast. I'll visit mathewriches at the boat yard eventually. Thanks for the offer!
