Will an in-hull mounted transducer work through 1.5" planking? My friend has lifted out his Hillyard for the week-end and cannot find a supplier of a brass thru-hull kit to replace a faulty unit so may have to think about fitting in-hull once lifted back
Deep Sea Seal as above spec - H72337/SET3 bought for my boat which I keep in France. When I got there the yard found I had mis-measured the Stern Tube. All complete and brand new. £80
A company called LowTension used to sell a range of VDO meters and sensors (eg oil and water) on E-bay and elsewhere - but they seem to have vanished off the face of the earth, possibly bust?
Can anyone suggest an alternative supplier? LowTension were cheap - so maybe that's why they went under
Great...just the info I needed. Northshore referred me to their propellor supplier who hadn't fitted a prop to a V27 .... and there were no 27s on the hard at Emsworh.
Anyone know the max prop diameter (physical not theoretical) that I can fit to my Vancouver 27 - or the distance from shaft to skeg/hull? The boat's in France so I'd like to have an idea before I lift out in April when I can get the actual measurement.
I am re-engining my old Vancouver 27 in France in March - taking out a Lister Petter LPWS2A engine (Engine # 3900117LPWS2A-42) - 2 cylinders & 18hp (1989 Alpha series) and putting in a 28hp Beta to give me a little more oomph in heavy seas!

Several of te owners are local fisherman who can't afford yacht club rates - the council leased the piles to the yacht club who have taken the fees but failed to maintain the moorings.
Re: Insurance cover on moorings - more info needed really
The club has quoted Health ad Safety issues and it's their Public Liability insurance that they say is a problem - but, yes, I think you're right when you say it could be a way of solving a problem!
A local yacht club has given 'notice to quit' to owners of boats who moor on some old and dilapidated wooden piles because 'their insurance company no longer will insure them for those particular moorings'.
Can the moorers overcome the problem if they waive their right to sue the club in the...
Marina\'s liability under their insurance
A friend has moored a 24' boat on a half-tide pontoon mooring for a year or so.
The river is fast running - up to 7 knots on a spring ebb - and over the years a number of boats have been swamped with wash coming over their transoms when they moor bow...
Just spent 2 months sailing on West Coast of France. While our chip and pin debit & credit cards were accepted in shops and ATM machines, not one 24/7 marina fuel pump accepted them. We tried four different cards from three different UK banks; all were unlocked to work with chip and pin...
