IMHO in the sea most of the growth is April-August. I have found it more effective to antifoul as late as possible before Easter, then use it regularly, once the growth gets going, you are stuffed as it keeps growing. Better if possible to scrub it before it gets a grip. I would expect similar...
Hi there and welcome. I bow to the other comments re your engine bleeding requirements, just wanted to add the figure Robin was thinking about, I suspect was that a diesel develops approx 20hp per gallon/hour used. Recalculate for Litres if you wish! This figure works within a few percent, and...
Hi Leopard,
Have just concluded a years share, actually with a friend. We split the time period for 2 weeks on 2 weeks off throughout the period. We did that so we potentially had an equal share of the most convenient/ inconvenient tides, but we had luck for the weather. All expense was by...
Yep! Told you the wormy things were bigger an better this year! Barnacles also more like limpets! Never mind what would the manufacturers do with all that antifoul if we didn't slap it on out boats?

Hi Arthur, what part of US are you in? I visited San Diego and it was about 65F and all the boats were coming out the water! Spoilt rotten I call it!.
I am intending to have a short run (8 miles) to Cowes tomorrow morning and we will be damn lucky if it is anywhere near 10C!

Well done you two. Hope you really enjoy the new boat. It is damp and chilly this time of the year, but there are usually plenty of warm pubs within a short run from OV, and the heaters available now are excellent, making winter boating great fun.
See you out there sometime!
