VMH started in June 2009. We were the first outfit to get a UKHO license to display their charts online. The aim was to create a "Online Pilot Book" covering the UK. Having covered 30,000 sea miles and amassed loads of books.. and with mobile internet coming along (yes even in 2006).. thought...

I won't try and convince you to buy our "For Nav" charts.. that's not what this mobile website is about. We're NOT selling Desktop charts on there at all. We will sell a limited range of our Android Marine Navigator charts from the mobile site. If you prefer paper charts for the detailed stuff...

"Otherwise the new version seems reasonable. At least it gets rid of the thoroughly unhelpful alphabetic listing of harbours over wide areas, but in the west of Scotland there aren't many places listed and no tidal information at all, so of limited use. I suspect that for many people - see the...

Agreed ! They are the official NP series. We may be able to arrange the hourly chartlets into a carousel type zoomable viewer... Instead of the whole lot up at once. Steve

It's a simple website, not an app or chartplotter. Just save the link and use on anything. Save to bookmarks. Works great on tablets. Steve

Unlikely, we don't have licenses in place. I have thought about seeing if Imray were interested in making their chart packages available for Marine Navigator themselves. We'd be happy to help them get it all set up, as they don't currently support Android at all. The more coverage the...

There is a lot of information on the desktop site. There is much less information on the mobile site. I was unable to determine which IPad app I can use with your charts Are you able to help? There is more on desktop site about products, plus some articles and business directory. Mobile site...

This is a known issue.. the solution is to tap the icon in the offending page that looks like a phone with 4 arrows.. top LH side of page content. It reloads the page without menu, and that seems to make it fit. Afterwards, using the refresh icon on RH side of content gets menu back. Haven't...

Happy New Year to all... Over the years there have been some unkind comments in these forums about the ease of use of the VisitMyHarbour website.. here's a sample: http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?495412-visitmyharbour-is-it-as-confusing-and-hard-to-use-as-it-seems There has always...

Visit My Harbour Confusion, Some user assistance please.

The mobile version under development (link above) will be plain and simple once we re-do the harbour coverage and product pages in a simpler style specifically for this . The map driven menus cut out most of the site navigation so reducing clutter.

Steve from VMH here. To answer the OPs questions 1) Can I buy their charts and use them on a PC, if so what application do you use, are there any others that you are aware of that are usable? YES. PC charts (Unified Charts) work with OpenCPN, qtVlm, Polar View, Expedition and SeaClear. If...

Windows 10 update interfering with ARCS charts in SeaClear

Steve from VMH here, couple of points: Charts for SeaClear are NOT ARCS. .totally different, nothing to do with UKHO other than they're licensed. They are a legacy product, been selling for many years (since 2012) without problems. We don't sell many now, and not many people are affected...

    Marine Navigator update causing problems

"In Android 4.4 "Kitkat" (API 19) Google has changed the default permissions for the external SD Card (usually microSD). Since that Android OS version third-party apps have no more access to write on the SD Card. It's a bit problematic, because now you might not be able to use your favourite...

    Marine Navigator update causing problems

It's the latest version of Android, been out a little while now. Users can't do what they used to do with external SD storage anymore Mr Koenig warned us a while back: 1. Storage Management: Google has changed the write permission for 3rd party apps recently. 3rd party apps are no longer...
